Something tells me Stewart Baker is going to care less and less about this collaboration of Right Wing lunatics. Mostly because he can't fight it. Anyone on the right who questions the tactics used in the fight against liberalism, is excommunicated, viciously. I think he will soon see the genius in the synergy... If not, he may be surprised to find himself a George Soros puppet on Glenn Beck's chalk board... As for Drudge, he has always been a smear machine/tabloid. Always.

The comments are kinda interesting. Lot of Birther nuts but also a few rational voices noticing Glenn Reynolds is getting increasingly nutty too.

Or it could be that the Drudge Report only links to Prison Planet when it really wants to run a story but can’t find a respectable source for it. (That would explain the latest link.)

If Prison Planet/Infowars is the only place a reporting a certain story, there's a reason for that. It's because the story is bullshit conspiracy mongering.

The only reason I can think of to check those two sites for anything would be to know what stories not to link.

I've always thought VC has way more integrity than most right wing blogs. It's just a matter of time until they become RINOS.

Don't bet on it. Check out the comments. Other bloggers on the site are knowingly linking to Alex Jones and defending their decision. The Readers are mostly concerned with defending Birther Conspiracies and the few people directly addressing the Alex Jones issue are defending him as the only source for certain information that fits their desired narrative.

I am just baffled by this. How can one expect that their ideas are worthy of a fair hearing in a political sphere when displaying such blatant, intellectual dishonesty?

If I found Jones to be the only source that backed my desired narrative, I'd do some hard thinking about how I should be changing my narrative.

I don't think they care anymore about establishing or maintaining credibility. They just want to oppose Obama in the most outrageous way possible. Glenn Beck has been warming them up for this for a long time. Beck's recycled Birch Society conspiracies aren't any more outrageous than what Alex Jones has been peddling. In many cases Beck rips off Jones' conspiracies. Fox News watchers no longer see Alex Jones as anything unusual because they've heard it all from Beck before.

It seems to me that the popular pundits on the right have given up on presenting ideas that are worthy for competition in the political arena, and are just going with anything to make the "other team" look bad.

It's fair enough to tell me why the "other team's" ideas are bad, but that must be backed up with ideas that are better from "your team" if you want me to buy what you're selling.

If this is the direction the GOP wants to go in, they can go without me.

The VC bloggers and commentators vary pretty widely. Adler is an outlier as a full-on restaurant-quality wingnut, and not typical of the tone of the site. And there are just as many commentators in that thread (myself included) mocking the conspiracy nuts as there are conspiracy nuts.

Bingo. Beck and Rush and a legion of overnight AM nut sacks just greased the skids for the crazy train to roll down Main Street with full pomp and circumstance. The transformation continues.

Having come to LGF originally because of Twoofers, I can say that the Alex Jones 'mob' likes to gang up on people that openly disagree with them. With that in mind, now that this mob has practically merged with the Beck crowd, shit is about to get real.

It's been serious for some time.
